The photovoltaic system consists of solar panels placed in rows forming individual series of modules, which are then connected via the necessary overvoltage protection to an inverter and the building’s photovoltaic plant distributor. Battery storage can also be connected to the inverter to cover overnight consumption with a BACK UP function (backup in the event of a power outage from the supplier’s network). For applications with low installed capacity, e.g. for home use, the ideal place to install the panels is on the roof, especially a saddle roof, which usually has the optimal slope required for the installation of panels. If a particular roof is not suitable in terms of its orientation, structure or load capacity, panels can of course be placed on the perimeter walls of the building or down on its surrounding grounds.
